A stunning pair of vintage pansy earrings, likely from the late 1960's. Each earring features five hand carved amethyst petals, meticulously cut to catch and play with light. At the center of each pansy sits a bezel set ruby surrounded by silver pommels, adding a touch of depth. 

The term "pansy" originates from the French word "pensée," meaning thought, and was adopted into Late Middle English to refer to violas around the mid-1400s. These flowers symbolized remembrance, embodying "love in idleness" and the singular focus of a lover's thoughts on their beloved.
